Terms and Conditions – Rent A Car Xanthi B&S

Welcome to Rent A Car Xanthi B&S. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.


1. General Information

Rent A Car Xanthi B&S is a car rental service based in Xanthi, Greece. For any inquiries, please contact us at info@rentacarxanthibs.gr.


2. Eligibility & Driving Licence Requirements

  • The renter must be at least 21 years of age. Drivers between 21–24 years old may be subject to a young driver surcharge.
  • A valid driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years is required.
  • Foreign nationals must present a valid national driving licence. An International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required for licences not issued in Latin script.
  • The renter must present a valid passport or national identity card at the time of vehicle collection.

3. Reservations & Payment

  • Reservations can be made by phone, email, or through our website.
  • A valid credit or debit card is required at the time of vehicle pick-up for the security deposit.
  • Rental rates include VAT as applicable under Greek law.
  • The total rental amount must be paid in full prior to or at the time of vehicle collection.

4. Security Deposit

A pre-authorisation hold (security deposit) will be placed on the renter’s credit card at the time of collection. The amount varies depending on the vehicle category. The deposit will be released within 7–14 business days after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition, subject to no damage, fines, or outstanding charges.


5. Vehicle Collection & Return

  • The vehicle must be collected and returned at the agreed date, time, and location as stated in the rental agreement.
  • Late returns will be charged at the standard daily rate pro-rated per hour.
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of collection. Failure to do so will result in a refuelling charge.
  • The renter must inspect the vehicle upon collection and report any pre-existing damage. Both parties must sign the rental agreement confirming the vehicle’s condition.

6. Permitted Use

The rental vehicle may only be used:

  • On public roads within Greece, unless prior written approval is given for cross-border travel.
  • By the named driver(s) listed in the rental agreement. Additional drivers must be declared and approved in advance.

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

  • Use of the vehicle for commercial transportation of passengers or goods (e.g. taxi services, delivery).
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs driving ability.
  • Driving on unpaved, off-road, or unsurfaced tracks unless the vehicle is specifically approved for such use.
  • Sub-renting or lending the vehicle to any third party not listed in the agreement.
  • Participation in racing, rallies, or any motorsport activity.
  • Transporting hazardous, illegal, or prohibited materials.

7. Insurance & Liability

  • All vehicles are covered by Third Party Liability Insurance as required by Greek law.
  • Optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) are available and recommended. These reduce but do not eliminate the renter’s financial liability in the event of an accident or theft.
  • Insurance coverage is void in the event of: driving under the influence, unauthorised use of the vehicle, violation of traffic laws, or use contrary to these terms.
  • The renter is fully liable for any damage not covered by the applicable insurance or waiver.

8. Accidents & Breakdowns

  • In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately contact the police and notify Rent A Car Xanthi B&S at info@rentacarxanthibs.gr.
  • A police report (δελτίο τροχαίου ατυχήματος) must be obtained and submitted to us.
  • The renter must not admit fault or liability to any third party without prior written consent from Rent A Car Xanthi B&S.
  • In the event of a breakdown, the renter must contact our roadside assistance line immediately. Unauthorised repairs will not be reimbursed.

9. Traffic Violations & Fines

The renter is solely responsible for any traffic violations, parking fines, toll charges, or any other penalties incurred during the rental period. Any fines received after the rental period that are attributable to the renter’s use of the vehicle will be charged to the renter, along with an administrative handling fee.


10. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled pick-up may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to one day’s rental.
  • No-shows without prior notice will be charged the full reservation amount.

11. Personal Data & Privacy

Rent A Car Xanthi B&S collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Greek data protection law. Your personal information is used solely for the purposes of managing your rental and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.


12. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Hellenic Republic. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Xanthi, Greece.


13. Amendments

Rent A Car Xanthi B&S reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The version published on our website at the time of booking shall apply.
